WHO WE ARE
We’re a collective of colourful, young Australian women from diverse backgrounds, sharing our stories of culture and ancestry - served with dishes of our heritage.
Seeking to nourish minds and bodies - culturally and collectively, we’re on a journey to navigate identities and explore cuisines with our sisters from Generation Y.
WHY WE EXIST
CELEBRATE
Celebrate multiculturalism in Australia, and improve social cohesion and community harmony - through the power of words and wonderful food
EMPOWER
Empower young women, and provide them with a platform to speak openly about their culture, identity, and unique experiences
CREATE
Create local and global connections, and deepen understanding, empathy, tolerance, and respect - promoting diversity and inclusion
ENCOURAGE
Encourage people to reflect on their family history, and think about how this has informed their past/present - and may impact their future
FOUNDER
NATASHA SUM
While I was born in Australia, like many Australians, my ancestors were born somewhere else.
As a ‘Third Culture Kid’, I’ve been able to experience life as someone who not only identifies as being a proud Australian - but also Malaysian, Chinese, and Indian.
I’m a communications and engagement specialist, strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, listener, thinker, traveller, and lover of all cuisines. I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2013 and hold a Bachelor of International and Global Studies - with majors in Government and International Relations, and Anthropology.
The Cultural Nourishment Collective is my personal passion project - established in 2020.
